Hall of Fame: Zach O’Brien

On behalf of the New Milford Youth Agency as Enrichment Coordinator and colleague, it is my pleasure to congratulate Mr. Zach O’Brien on making our Youth Agency Hall of Fame. Over the past four years, Zach has held the position of counselor and assistant site supervisor for youths in grades K-8th in our before and after school child care program as well as our summer camp. Throughout Zach’s tenure, he has shown leadership, compassion and professionalism for children of all ages and abilities. Zach is a trusted individual that has shown aptitudes to complete given tasks in a timely fashion and handle difficult situations with children in a poised, caring and concise manner. 

Zach has worked with children in a variety of settings including field trips, helping students with homework and as an exemplary counselor and assistant supervisor in our child care program. Furthermore, Zach has developed a keen sense of compassion for those with special needs by showing patience and consideration. Zach has shown time and time again that he is able to make rational decisions with honesty and clarity. Currently, Zach balances his time between the New Milford Youth Agency and his family and friends which also reside in New Milford. Zach takes great pride in his work and community as he is always working to maintain the integrity and positive image of our town. His experience working with elementary and middle school aged children, staff, parents and the community for the Youth Agency has given him the opportunity to grow which would transition well in future career paths. 

Zach has built lasting relationships within the community as part of the New Milford Youth Agency. His commitment and dedication to the improvement of the youths in our town has shaped him into the young man he is today.  – Vincent Van Wattum
