Megan comes to us with a Masters in General Psychology from the New School for Social Research and a Masters in Social Work from Fordham University. She also has a certificate in Child and Adolescent Trauma Training from the National Center for Trauma and Social Work Education. Megan worked at Silver Hill Hospital for six years as a Residential Counselor in both the adult and adolescent Transitional Living Programs. She completed her first year social work internship at Sherman Social Services in neighboring Sherman, CT, where she helped connect individuals and families to important resources and social programs as well as running groups within the center. Megan spent the past year working in the Child Welfare Department and the Children’s Advocacy Center at the Westchester Institute for Human Development in Valhalla, NY, and spent a year as a LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities) Trainee learning how to effectively advocate for children and families of children with disabilities and other special health care needs. Megan lives in Ridgefield, CT with her husband and their 3 daughters (5,3,1). She is extremely excited about the opportunity to work at the Youth Agency and looks forward to getting to know the youth and families of the New Milford community. If you have any suggestions for programs or activities you would like to see at the Youth Agency please call 860 210 2020 or contact Megan at megan@youthagency.org.
